FAQ
What are your prices?
I offer a variety of packages, including mini-sessions and full sessions with files. Please contact me for details.
What is the difference between a mini-session and a full session?
A mini-session is a 20 minute session, which includes an online proofing gallery and 3 high-resolution files to download. A full session is 45-60 minutes and includes ALL high-resolution files to download.
When will we get our photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link within two weeks of your session, usually much earlier!
How many pictures will we receive?
The number of photos depends on the length of your session and the number of people in your portrait. Usually, a mini-session yields about 45 proofs and a full session yields about 100+ proofs.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are always welcome! However, some locations do not allow dogs, so please contact me for some dog-friendly location ideas.
What if my kids misbehave, act crazy or cry?
Relax! Not only do I have over 20 years of experience photographing kids, but I'm a mom too. Sometimes a stressed parent can make the shoot harder. I ask that parents let me take the lead in keeping the kids happy and getting their cooperation.
What should we wear?
Above all else, wear something that you feel comfortable in. I generally recommend that families coordinate tones and colors to create a pleasing color palette for their images. Matching outfits are not required (and in my opinion should be avoided.) If you are struggling with what to wear, I recommend choosing an outfit for the most difficult person to dress first, then coordinating the other outfits around that color palette. Feel free to reach out if you need help!
Understanding file size and resolution
Some clients are confused by the size of the files they receive when downloading their high-resolution images. It's important to understand that file size is not always related to resolution and does not determine how large you can print a photo. File size can be affected by the camera, its settings, the software used to process the photo and even the actual scene being photographed. For this reason, it is not useful to compare your high-resolution files against an iPhone photo or other images files you may have.
I will not give you any images that cannot be printed to AT LEAST 11x14 size, The vast majority of images I provide can be printed to 20x30 and even larger, with some sharpening.
Will you retouch my photos?
All photos will be edited for color, contrast, exposure and color accuracy before they are delivered to you. I am happy to do a reasonable amount of facial retouching for a handful of images that you know you will print or use. Any major retouching requests will be subject to an additional fee.
